First St Water Utility Improvements

Description:
The proposed project consists of a new water main pipeline and a new storm drain pipeline as described below. The new water main is to replace an existing water main on First Street. The new pipeline will extend between Santa Teresa Boulevard in the west and Monterey Street in the east, a distance of approximately 8,000 feet. The diameter of the new pipeline will be 16 inches between Monterey Street and Church Street, and 24 inches between Church Street and Santa Teresa Boulevard. The invert elevation of the new water main will be about 7 to 8 feet below ground surface. The new 18-inch diameter storm drain gravity main will run along First Street, between Monterey Street and Church Street, a distance of approximately 725 feet. The invert of the new storm drain will be about 7 to 9 feet below ground surface. The proposed water main pipeline will be constructed using open cut and cover method or horizontal directional drilling method. The proposed storm drain pipeline will be constructed using open cut and cover method.
